- The NDC warned that electoral crimes have no expiry date and vowed to challenge the results
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has outrightly rejected the re-collated parliamentary results for seven contested constituencies.
The NDC accuses the Electoral Commission (EC) of acting unlawfully and favoring the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Following a High Court ruling, the EC re-collated and declared results for Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, Ahafo Ano South West, Nsawam Adoagyiri, Obuasi East, Okaikwei Central, and Tema Central—all of which were awarded to the NPP.
Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, General Secretary of the NDC, labeled the process as fraudulent and a betrayal of Ghana’s democratic values. The party also criticized the EC’s leadership, alleging a deliberate attempt to erode public trust in the electoral system.
The NDC commended its supporters for maintaining peace amidst what it described as intimidation and oppression by security forces.
It reiterated its commitment to seeking accountability, warning that electoral crimes have no expiration date.
