Global Info-Analytics, a respected research firm, is celebrating a moment of vindication after their bold prediction for the 2024 Ghana general election came to fruition.
Before the December 7 election, the firm, led by Mussa Dankwah, confidently forecasted that John Mahama and the NDC would secure 52.1% of the vote, with his main rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, trailing at 41.4%.
When the official results were announced on December 9 at the Commission’s headquarters in Accra by Jean Mensa, Mahama’s victory was confirmed: he garnered 6,382,397 votes (56.55%), while Bawumia received 4,657,304 votes (41.61%).
Dr. Eugene Kumi Arhin, a Senior Research Fellow at Global Info-Analytics, discussed the prediction on Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen Morning Show.
He expressed that despite previous criticism of their forecasts, the accuracy of their research only strengthens their resolve to continue their work.
“We conducted thorough research, and we were confident Mahama would win one-touch,” he said.
Dr. Kumi Arhin explained that factors such as economic challenges, rising unemployment, and issues with the Free SHS double track system led many Ghanaians to vote against the NPP.
He believes these results will only motivate the firm to push forward with their research, rather than discourage them.
