The Ghana Police Service has launched an intensive search for suspected armed robbers who fatally shot two police officers in Binduri, located in the Upper East Region.
The tragic incident occurred at Poyamirea, near the outskirts of Binduri. The officers, who were reportedly not in uniform and were traveling on a private motorbike, were ambushed while en route from Bongo to Binduri.
Initial investigations suggest that the attackers opened fire on the officers and subsequently stole their motorbike.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased officers, adhering to customary protocols to ensure proper notification of their families.
In a statement released by the Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Police Service, the police administration conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and assured the public that swift action is being taken to apprehend the perpetrators.
