Donald Trump took the oath of office as the 47th president of the United States, marking a dramatic political comeback after his felony convictions.

Sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts, Trump’s inauguration speech declared that “the golden age of America begins right now,” as he outlined his top priorities on trade, immigration, and national security.

He fiercely criticized President Joe Biden, who sat nearby, and proclaimed, “America’s decline is over.”

Reflecting on last year’s assassination attempt that nearly took his life, Trump credited divine intervention for saving him and reaffirmed his mission to “Make America Great Again.”

In the wake of his swearing-in, Trump is expected to swiftly implement executive orders, including declaring a national emergency on the US-Mexico border, exiting the Paris climate agreement, and ramping up fossil fuel initiatives.

Meanwhile, outgoing President Biden issued pardons for key figures, including General Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and members of the January 6 investigation committee. He also granted preemptive pardons for his family members.
