Tirzah Appiah-Kubi seeks re-Election as GNAT-LAS Kwabre Coordinator with Bold IT Agenda for Women
As the Global narrative shifts increasingly towards digital innovation, Madam Tirza Appiah Kubi, the GNAT Ladies Association (GNAT-LAS) Coordinator for Kwabre District, is making a bold case for empowering female teachers through Information Technology (IT).
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tanko on the Ghana Se Sen show on Lawson TV/Radio on Wednesday, 21st May, 2025, she emphasized her commitment to helping women in education, especially, GNAT-LAS members, to boost their knowledge in IT.
Madam Appiah-Kubi, who is seeking re-election on Friday, May 23, 2025, expressed concern over the digital skill gap between female teachers and their male counterparts.
“The world is moving, and IT is where it’s going,” she said. “Unfortunately, many of our women in teaching lack the necessary IT skills to keep up.”
Her campaign centers on giving female educators the training they need, not just to catch up with but to potentially surpass their male colleagues in tech proficiency.
If re-elected, she intends to roll out a comprehensive IT training programme specifically tailored for women educators in the Kwabre District.
“This isn’t just about technology,” she noted. “It’s about helping women use IT to unlock their full potential—in the classroom and beyond.”
Her vision has already gained traction.
According to Madam Kubi, philanthropists and corporate organizations have thrown their support behind her initiatives, signaling strong backing for her leadership.
But her re-election agenda goes beyond IT.
She also plans to set up a committee to receive GNAT-LAS members’ complaints and concerns about troubling conditions and situations affecting their welfare and professional duties. She assured that her office would followup the matters and solve them for the GNAT-LAS members.
“This program, if implemented, would help GNAT-LAS Kwabre District progress steadily,” she asserted, adding that she is hopeful members will renew her mandate to continue the impactful work.
With the support of stakeholders and a growing base of women educators behind her, Madam Tirza Appiah Kubi is poised to redefine female leadership in education through innovation, health, and grassroots engagement.
She hopes to organize practical training sessions for GNAT-LAS members in the areas of entrepreneurial skills and cyber business.
In less than a year in office, Madam Tirzah Appiah-Kubi boasts of successfully holding orientation for Local GNAT-LAS Coordinators, organizing Roundtable Congresses for all the six Locals and promoting the welfare of Lady GNAT members.
She disclosed that through her leadership, Kwabre GNATLAS organized a highly pitched District Roundtable Congress 2025 which has attracted the attention several non-GNAT teachers, to the association.
”After that programme, many GNAT members who had been inactive for years are running back to the association because what they saw before, during and after the programme showed that the association in Kwabre has been re-energized”, she noted.
