Black Stars Must Defeat Chad to Keep World Cup Dream Alive – Paintsil
Ghana's World Cup hopes hinge on a crucial showdown against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Black Stars assistant coach John Paintsil has underlined the crucial nature of Ghana’s upcoming World Cup qualifier against Chad, calling it a “must-win” match.
The four-time African champions will battle Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday at 19:00 GMT in their Matchday 5 fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
After a challenging 2024 campaign with just two wins in 10 games, Ghana is eager to secure its first victory of 2025. Paintsil remains optimistic, urging fans to support the team, stating, “The Chad game is a must-win, and with the support of the fans, I know it will go well for us.”
He further highlighted the significance of qualifying for the World Cup, emphasizing the opportunities and investments it could bring.
Following the Chad encounter, the Black Stars will face Madagascar in Morocco on March 24 in their final group stage match. Ghana is currently tied with Comoros atop Group I, both on nine points after four matches.
