The Ghana Police Service is investigating 88 individuals intercepted aboard two Metro Mass Transit buses at Benchema, near Asawinso, in the Western North Region on December 3, 2024.

Preliminary reports suggest that the group was allegedly recruited by a man known as Sammy from locations in the Greater Accra Region, including Adenta, Oyarifa, and Madina.

The recruits were reportedly being transported to serve as security personnel at polling stations in the Western North Region.

The suspects are in police custody, assisting with investigations, while authorities intensify efforts to track down Sammy, the alleged mastermind behind the operation.
