Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to move past their recent electoral defeat and focus on making a strong comeback in the 2028 general elections.

In a meeting with Greater Accra Region constituency organisers, led by NPP Regional Organiser Prince Obeng, Akufo-Addo acknowledged the loss but stressed the importance of unity and forward-thinking.

“Political parties win or lose elections. Yes, we’ve lost, but I know we can come back,” Akufo-Addo said. “We should stop feeling sorry for ourselves. Let’s reorganise and move forward as one.”

He emphasized the need for renewed confidence, urging the party to act as if they truly believe they can regain the trust of the people in 2028.

The meeting also discussed internal party issues, with the delegation advocating for clearer roles for constituency organisers in the NPP constitution. They sought Akufo-Addo’s support in pushing for constitutional amendments.

While the organisers raised concerns over alleged governmental interference with the judiciary, Akufo-Addo’s message remained focused on party cohesion and recovery.

His remarks were described as “profound and inspiring” by the delegation, marking a moment of reflection for the NPP as they strategize for the future.
