Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has issued a heartfelt appeal to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), urging them to uphold party unity and refrain from airing internal disputes in the media.

With the 2024 general elections on the horizon, he emphasized the importance of internal harmony and disciplined communication.

During a visit to Accra’s Kantamanto Market on Tuesday, April 15, Afenyo-Markin addressed traders and party supporters, highlighting the need for solidarity and mutual respect within the party ranks.

“If you’re part of the NPP, don’t be discouraged—life has its ups and downs,” he said. “Soon, the party will announce elders at various levels and eventually select a flagbearer. Until then, let’s stay together.”

He further advised party members to avoid public criticism of one another, especially on radio and television, reinforcing that internal matters should be handled privately to preserve party unity.

“We’re one party, one family. Let’s not attack each other publicly,” he urged. “Regardless of our differences, we must stand together.”

Afenyo-Markin’s visit also served to show support following a recent fire outbreak at the Kantamanto Market. On behalf of the Minority in Parliament, he presented a GHS200,000 donation to assist victims affected by the disaster.
