The government has officially withdrawn treason felony charges against Oliver Barker-Vormawor, marking the end of a two-year legal saga stemming from his alleged plans to orchestrate a coup following comments made about the controversial E-Levy.
Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine announced the decision, which is part of a broader strategy to discontinue several high-profile cases, including those involving Dr. Stephen Opuni, businessman Seidu Agongo, and former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama.
Explaining the rationale behind the move, Dr. Ayine noted a review of the treason charges and confirmed that Barker-Vormawor’s case had been officially closed.
