Sky Train Scandal: Solomon Asamoah Rejects Claims of Hiding in Senegal
Ex-GIIF CEO says his travels were pre-planned, denies evading justice

Former Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) CEO, Solomon Asamoah, has dismissed allegations by Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine that he fled to Senegal to evade justice.
Dr. Ayine claimed at a press conference on March 24 that Asamoah, a key figure in the Sky Train case, had moved from South Africa to Senegal. However, in a statement on the same day, Asamoah refuted the claims, calling them entirely false.
He explained that he left Ghana on March 21, 2025, for pre-scheduled board meetings abroad and was never contacted by any government official before his departure. He also revealed that he was later reached via WhatsApp by a National Intelligence Bureau official on March 22, and they agreed to discuss the matter in an online meeting on March 26.
Asamoah reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and cooperation in addressing concerns about GIIF’s investments.
