In a landmark moment for the judiciary, seven newly appointed Supreme Court Justices will be officially sworn into office today, Thursday, July 3.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held at Jubilee House, where President John Dramani Mahama will administer the oath of office.

These appointments, made in accordance with Article 144 of the 1992 Constitution, come after thorough vetting and parliamentary approval earlier this year.

The new Justices—many of whom bring extensive experience from the Court of Appeal—are expected to significantly strengthen the Supreme Court’s capacity, particularly as it prepares to tackle a growing number of cases involving constitutional interpretation, election-related issues, and intricate civil and criminal appeals.

The incoming Justices are:

  1. Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei
