A 65-year-old security guard, Kwabena Boateng, was tragically suffocated to death by suspected robbers at the De-Bridge One District One Factory (1D1F) facility in Gomoa Akotsi, Central Region.
The fatal attack occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, July 2, 2025, when Mr. Boateng attempted to stop a gang from stealing two electricity transformers from the factory premises.
Police sources reveal this was the second armed assault on the guard. The robbers tied his hands and legs with rope before covering his head with a polythene bag, leading to his suffocation and death.
After the killing, the suspects dismantled two ECG transformers owned by the De-Bridge 1D1F company and escaped with several cables.
The brutal incident has shocked the local community and sparked serious concerns over the security of factory facilities and the safety of workers in the region.
