The Minister-Designate for Communications, Digitalisation, and Innovation, Sam George, has issued a strong warning to Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), vowing to impose fines on those who fail to deliver reliable telecommunications services.

Speaking during his vetting by Parliament’s Appointments Committee, the Ningo-Prampram MP emphasized the importance of holding network providers accountable through strict enforcement of quality standards and financial penalties when necessary.

He also pledged to collaborate with regulators to enhance spectrum allocation for MNOs while ensuring they meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Sam George assured Ghanaians of his commitment to improving service delivery, stating, “I will not hesitate to fine MNOs that fall short of service quality. Ghanaians deserve the best, and we will crack the whip when necessary.”

At the same time, he promised government support for the telecom industry to ensure operators have the necessary resources to deliver top-tier services.
