Renowned gospel musician Sonnie Badu has urged prophets to refrain from predicting people’s deaths, emphasizing that such pronouncements do not demonstrate spiritual power but rather align them with prophets of doom.

In a Facebook post, the Baba hitmaker stressed that prophecy should be life-affirming and redemptive, rather than spreading fear through tragic predictions. He reminded prophets that their role is to uplift and encourage, not to instill despair.

“Prophesying someone’s death does not make one powerful,” he stated, adding that true prophecy comes with redemption. He urged prophets to exercise wisdom in their revelations, noting that even they experience deep grief when they lose loved ones.

“Dear major and minor prophets, there is something called the word of wisdom. Whatever you see, you should speak with wisdom. Prophesying someone’s death does not make you powerful—it makes you a prophet of doom. Once there is revelation, then there is redemption. Revelation without redemption is not God speaking.”

Sonnie Badu also pleaded with prophets to consider the families of those they prophesy about, as such declarations cause unnecessary fear. He emphasized that spiritual maturity comes with wisdom and discernment.

Concluding his message, he extended well wishes to Vice President Naana Opoku-Agyemang, urging her to prioritize her health after the rigorous election campaign.

“To our Vice President, @njoagyemang—Mummy, get well soon. Please take time to rest. The truth is, you gave your all during the campaign and have not rested. I am praying for you. Love you loads, Mummy.”
