Former Minister and Police Inspector Face Court as Murder Case Unfolds

- Baffour Awuah’s Bail Eased
- Inspector Duah Granted Bail
- Three Suspects Denied Bail
The Sunyani District Court ‘B’ has reviewed the bail conditions for Mr. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, allowing him to travel outside the Sunyani Municipality while still requiring him to report to the police weekly instead of daily. However, his passport remains in the court’s custody.
Presided over by Mr. Eric Daning, the court also granted GH¢300,000 bail to Police Inspector Duah Owusu Agyemang, 42, who has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Francis Fimpong, also known as Nana Pooley.
Inspector Duah, formerly the bodyguard of Mr. Baffour Awuah, must submit his passport to the court within three days and report to the nearest police station.
Baffour Awuah, Inspector Duah, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiwaa, and Yaa Asantewaa remain on bail, facing conspiracy to commit murder charges under Sections 23(1) and 46 of the Criminal Offenses Act 1960 (Act 29). They are expected to reappear before the court on March 10, 2025.
Meanwhile, three other suspects—Isaac Fosu, Yeboah Augustine, and Yaw Koshy—were denied bail and remain in police custody until their next hearing on March 3, 2025. One suspect, identified as Brimah, remains at large.
Lawyer Samuel Safo Duku, Communications Director for Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC, was present, monitoring proceedings.
