Police Nab Truck Suspected of Smuggling Missing ECG Cables

The Agona Swedru Divisional Police Command has successfully impounded a truck carrying electrical cables believed to be part of the missing containers from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) at Tema Port.

The truck, with registration number GC 7410-11, was intercepted at Gomoa Awombrew in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region.

According to reports, the vehicle broke down near Awombrew in Agona Swedru, sparking suspicion over its cargo.

Upon inspection, the police arrested the driver and three passengers.

The four suspects are currently in police custody while investigations continue to trace the origin and intended destination of the cables.
