Ghana Police have confirmed the arrest of Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa, widely known as Akosua China, as the prime suspect in the tragic death of Nana Pooley, a devoted Asante Kotoko supporter.
The arrest was announced in a statement on Thursday, February 6, 2025, and Akosua China is now in police custody.
The authorities’ investigation into Pooley’s untimely death continues, though details about China’s involvement remain limited.
Sources suggest she may have played a direct role in the incident that led to Pooley’s passing.
The arrest of Akosua Black Chinese brings the total number of arrests to six.
The shocking murder, which occurred at Nana Koramansah Park, has sent ripples through the Ghanaian football community, sparking calls for urgent justice and improved security at match venues.
In response, both Asante Kotoko SC and Accra Hearts of Oak have pushed for stronger security measures, recently submitting a joint proposal to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to ensure such tragedies are prevented.
The police have pledged to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation, promising that those responsible for Pooley’s death will face justice.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko supporters continue to mourn their passionate fan’s death, with some advocating for a boycott of the Ghana Premier League until justice is served.
