Police Arrest Highway Robbers in Bold Operation at Wangarakrom
Police thwart robbery attempts and recover stolen items, urging the public to stay alert

In a successful operation by the Western Central Police Command, two individuals, Kwame Mumin and Awal Benjamin, were arrested on March 31, 2025, for their involvement in a highway robbery and extortion incident near Wangarakrom, close to Tarkwa.
The duo had set up a blockade, targeting motorists and stealing cash and valuables.
Among the items recovered were a red unregistered Suzuki motorbike, military camouflage attire, boots, a flashlight, a black face mask, a machete, and GHC 645.00 in cash.
ACP Bismark Agyapong, head of the Western Central Police Command, urged the public, particularly Mobile Money vendors, to stay alert and report any suspicious activities.
He further advised business owners to close early as a precautionary measure against possible attacks.
