In a heartbreaking and horrifying incident, a jealous lover, identified as Joseph Richard, has allegedly set fire to his girlfriend’s room following her request to end their relationship.
The incident, which occurred around 3 AM in Axim, Western Region of Ghana, left two children—Joseph Ben, 16, and Richlove Asiedua Yeboah, 3—severely injured. The victims are currently receiving treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
Eyewitnesses said, that the suspect deliberately started the fire in an attempt to harm the children. The alleged motive stems from the woman, Bettye Herman, deciding to end the relationship due to threats from the suspect’s mother.
The suspect is currently on the run, and relatives of the victims are appealing to the police and the public to help bring him to justice.
