The Headmistress of Agric Central M/A Basic School in Agric Nzema, Ashanti Region, Mrs. Abigail Adjei, has made a heartfelt appeal to the government, NGOs, and philanthropists to come to the school’s aid.

She called for urgent renovations and completion of the deteriorating upper primary block, which she described as a safety hazard to both students and staff.

Speaking to Asonaba of Lawson TV during the school’s maiden speech and prize-giving day after 65 years of existence, Mrs. Adjei highlighted the dire need for improved infrastructure to support effective teaching and learning.

She stressed that the current state of the school building is not only deplorable but poses serious risks.

In addition to structural issues, the school also lacks fundamental educational resources such as a computer lab, a library, and essential teaching and learning materials—factors she said are negatively affecting academic performance.

Mrs. Adjei used the occasion to urge parents to take a more active role in their children’s education. “Education is the best investment and the greatest legacy any parent can leave for their child,” she said.

The celebration, themed “Excellence in Action: The Role of Stakeholders in Improving Education,” featured vibrant cultural displays, poetry recitals, and choreographed performances by the pupils—marking a significant milestone in the school’s history.

Also speaking at the event, the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso, Hon. Eric Asibey, echoed the call for parental involvement.

He encouraged parents to invest in their children’s future, urging them to build strong relationships with their wards to prevent them from falling into destructive habits such as drug use.

Both leaders appealed to all stakeholders to come together in safeguarding the future of the children
