Abraham Boadi, also known as Opooman, a former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) member, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to expedite the appointment of a new KMA Mayor.

He highlighted the leadership vacuum at the assembly, as the NPP’s loss of power has left no active executives managing the affairs of the city.

Criticizing the “winner-takes-all” mentality, Opooman stressed that such an approach hinders progress, as it forces elected officials to vacate their posts after a change in government, leaving the Assembly in a standstill.

Speaking on Lawson TV/Radio’s Ghana Se Sen show with Kwame Tanko, he emphasized the need for a Mayor who resonates with the people and has the capability to secure funding for the Assembly.

Opooman further stated that Kumasi requires leadership that can ensure the city remains clean and orderly.

He mentioned that the race for the KMA Mayor’s position is between Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, known as Zuba, and Nana Asare Bediako, known as Obama.

Based on available information, Opooman indicated that Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi is likely to be appointed the next Mayor.
