Ofori-Atta Seeks Virtual Meeting with OSP Over Health Complications
Former Finance Minister submits medical reports and offers remote cooperation amid ongoing investigations

- Ken Ofori-Atta misses June 2 OSP appointment due to health issues, submits medical reports
- He requests to participate in the investigation virtually under the Electronic Transactions Act
- OSP may re-declare him wanted and seek an INTERPOL Red Notice if he fails to appear
Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has requested to participate virtually in an upcoming session with the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) due to a sudden decline in his health.
Sources close to him have confirmed that he will not appear in person on Monday, June 2, as originally scheduled.
His legal team has submitted medical documentation to both the OSP and the Human Rights Court, detailing his condition and outlining planned surgical procedures.
This development comes amid growing speculation about whether Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng will reinstate Mr. Ofori-Atta’s status as a wanted person should he fail to attend the session in person.
An earlier statement from the OSP hinted that such an action was under consideration.
Mr. Ofori-Atta is currently involved in a legal battle at the Human Rights Court, where he is contesting his previous designation as a wanted person. A ruling on this case is expected on June 18, 2025.
His legal team is also seeking an order for the OSP to remove all public references to the earlier declaration from its official channels.
In light of his medical challenges, Mr. Ofori-Atta has offered to provide a Cautioned Statement via a virtual platform, in accordance with the Electronic Transactions Act. The OSP has not yet responded to this proposal.
