NRSA to Enforce Uniforms & Training for Okada, Pragyia Riders

Stricter road safety regulations introduced to curb accidents and ensure compliance. Riders must undergo training, wear uniforms, and obtain special license plates.

The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) is set to introduce new measures to enhance road safety, including mandatory uniforms and specialized training for Okada and Pragyia riders.

Acting Director General Abraham Amaliba has emphasized the need for strict adherence to traffic regulations, warning that violators will face arrest and prosecution.

Speaking at a meeting with the Tricycle Operators Association in Koforidua, he announced that riders will undergo compulsory training before receiving special license plates from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).

Additionally, the NRSA is working with operators to establish unions to streamline registration and enforcement. Amaliba stressed that these regulations aim to reduce road accidents, ensuring that only properly trained riders are on the roads.
