Dennis Miracles Aboagye, former Communications Director for the Bawumia Campaign Team, has assured Ghanaians that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will adopt a responsible and constructive approach rather than engaging in obstructionist tactics like the National Democratic Congress (NDC) did in the past.

He emphasized that the NPP’s role in opposition will be to ensure the NDC delivers on its promises to the people.

“We believe that every pledge the NDC made to Ghanaians must be fulfilled. Our duty as an opposition party is to hold them accountable and push them to honor their commitments,” Aboagye stated in an interview.

Highlighting the upcoming budget, he called on the government to eliminate taxes the NDC had vowed to remove, including the emission tax, COVID tax, betting tax, and the e-levy.

“Our expectation is that these taxes will be scrapped because that was the NDC’s promise. We will ensure they stick to their word and remain committed to their obligations,” he added.

Aboagye reiterated that the NPP will not resort to the disruptive opposition tactics they experienced from the NDC but will rather engage in constructive governance oversight.
