The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially announced January 31, 2026, as the date for its presidential primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections.

This pivotal decision was reached during a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. According to the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, the NEC and National Council unanimously agreed that this timeline aligns with the party’s constitutional framework.

“The date for our presidential primaries is set for January 31, 2026,” Kodua declared, affirming that no constitutional amendments were required for the decision.
