- Asenso Boakye emphasizes that no previous government has achieved this level of infrastructure development
Former Roads and Highways Minister, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, has boldly declared that no government in Ghana’s history has constructed more roads than the Akufo-Addo administration since the country gained independence.
In an exclusive interview on Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen Morning Show, Asenso-Boakye highlighted the remarkable achievements of the Akufo-Addo government, which oversaw the construction, repair, and maintenance of 13,224KM of roads over its eight years in power.
In contrast, he noted that the NDC government managed to construct only 4,636KM during their tenure.
He further emphasized the Akufo-Addo government’s legacy in road infrastructure, citing upgrades of 300KM and the creation of nearly 2,000KM of asphalted roads.
Asenso-Boakye made it clear that the current administration’s impact on road development stands unmatched, leaving an open question as to whether any future government can surpass this achievement.
The Bantama Member of Parliament expressed pride in his tenure as Minister, even though his time was limited to just 10 months, asserting that had he had more time, even greater strides could have been made.
