In a dramatic security operation near the Jubilee House, National Security operatives, supported by Police and Military forces, arrested a Nigerian businessman, Ben Peters, for unlawfully blocking the entrance to Aurora Apartments in Kanda with armed men.

Led by Richard Jakpa and the Presidency’s Deputy Director of Operations, Mustapha Gbande, the joint task force moved in after Peters and his associates reportedly used vehicles and armed personnel to deny residents access to and from the apartment complex.

Following the incident, Peters and several of his close associates were arrested, and the vehicles involved were impounded by National Security.

Mustapha Gbande condemned the act, stating: “He has blocked the place such that no individual can go in or come out. Nobody can come into our country and take our people into this ransom. It is illegal and unlawful. This cannot be done in Nigeria and certainly not in this country.”

Sources say Peters initially resisted arrest and went into hiding until businessman Ibrahim Mahama—brother to President Mahama—arrived at the scene, after which security forces successfully apprehended him.
