  • Enhanced vigilance at collation centers, especially in Ashanti Region, secured 50,000 extra votes for the NDC
  • The NDC’s "24-Hour Economy" message resonated strongly with voters

Dr. Seth Christopher Yaw Appiah, a Senior Lecturer at KNUST, has refuted claims by NPP’s former presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, that the NDC’s 2020 and 2024 election votes remained unchanged and that the NPP handed victory to the opposition.

Speaking on Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen Morning Show on Friday, Dr. Appiah pointed out that the NDC secured an additional 42,200 votes, proving Bawumia’s assertion incorrect.

He highlighted the NDC’s improved vigilance at collation centers, especially in the Ashanti Region, as a key factor in thwarting alleged vote-rigging attempts by the NPP, securing an extra 50,000 votes.

He also noted that Ghanaians’ preference for a stable parliamentary majority and the party’s “24-Hour Economy” campaign resonated strongly with voters, further strengthening their support for the NDC.
