Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Bekwai Constituency, has delivered a sharp critique of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto, labeling it an empty document lacking concrete plans for Ghana’s development.

In an interview on Wontumi TV and Radio on November 21, 2024, Poku-Adusei challenged the NDC’s promise to “reset” Ghana’s economy, questioning which previous economic policies they plan to revert to. “Are they referring to JJ Rawlings’ era, the late Prof. J.E.A. Mills’ administration from 2009-2012, or John Mahama’s tenure from 2013-2016?” he asked, emphasizing the need for clarity on this matter.

The young politician criticized the NDC for their lack of immediate economic strategies, noting that their only proposal involves convening a national economic forum within the first 120 days of taking office. “This clearly shows that the NDC is out of ideas and is only paying lip service to the electorate,” he stated.

Poku-Adusei contrasted the NDC’s generic policies with the NPP’s specific initiatives aimed at addressing Ghana’s challenges.

He highlighted Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s proposals, which include implementing a flat rate for imports, generating 2000MW of solar power to lower electricity costs, and introducing a gold-backed currency to strengthen the cedi.

He also shared his own accomplishments, which include constructing three mechanized boreholes, repairing eight damaged boreholes, clearing two aging refuse dumps, providing skills training for 3,000 youth, and facilitating financial inclusion for 10,000 traders, along with support for education, sports, culture, and religion.

In closing, Lawyer Poku-Adusei expressed his vision for a self-sufficient constituency, emphasizing his goal of creating an accessible and inclusive office for the Member of Parliament.
