National Cathedral Scandal: CHRAJ Recommends Prosecution of Trustees Over Procurement Breaches

The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has advised further investigation and possible prosecution of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral project.
This recommendation comes after CHRAJ determined that the board breached procurement laws in awarding a contract to Ribade Company, contrary to Act 663 as amended.
This conclusion was included in a report by CHRAJ, following a petition filed in January 2023 by North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The petition raised concerns about the actions of Rev. Kusi Boateng, Secretary to the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, including allegations of conflict of interest, multiple identities, and financial improprieties.
CHRAJ, however, exonerated Rev. Kusi Boateng, who is also the founder of Power House Chapel, from conflict of interest claims.
The commission found no evidence to support allegations that GH¢2.6 million had been transferred from the National Cathedral Secretariat to JNS Talent Centre Limited, a company linked to Rev. Kusi Boateng under the identity Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
