 The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has apprehended a 46-year-old Ghanaian woman after intercepting 30 slabs of suspected cannabis weighing approximately 16.4 kilograms.

The arrest took place on Tuesday, May 27, at the consolidated cargo section of Swissport, located within Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

According to an official statement, NACOC personnel, acting on a tip-off, inspected the woman’s cargo and discovered the compressed cannabis concealed among her personal belongings.

The suspect is currently in custody and cooperating with authorities as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, the seized narcotics have been taken in for further analysis.
