Multi-Vehicle Accident Near UCC Leaves One Dead, Others Hurt

A 19-year-old, Wilfred Awusi Ninson, tragically lost his life in a severe accident at the University of Cape Coast’s West Gate on the main Cape Coast–Takoradi–Accra Highway.
The incident, which occurred around 12:48 pm on Thursday, left four others injured with varying degrees of harm.
The collision involved several vehicles, including a tipper truck (GN 5710-19), a Honda CRV SUV (CR 329-20), a Nissan Sentra saloon (CR 1756-12), and a tricycle known locally as a “pragyia.”
CCTV footage reveals the tipper truck violently crashing into over three vehicles at the intersection and striking a pedestrian who was waiting to cross.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the 29-year-old driver of the tipper truck, Bright Essel, was hauling sand from Bronyibima towards the DVLA junction in Cape Coast at the time of the crash.
