“This project is a core part of our digital transformation agenda,” Mr. Blewett said. “It’s about closing the digital divide and creating opportunities for individuals, businesses, and entire communities.”
He further emphasized that expanding MTN’s digital infrastructure is essential for enhancing customer experience and promoting economic growth. As part of this expansion, the company is also boosting its 4G capabilities and upgrading infrastructure to prepare for future connectivity needs.
In 2025, MTN plans to relocate around 130 kilometers of fiber infrastructure to strengthen network resilience and increase overall capacity. This move will lay the groundwork for advanced digital services and innovative applications.
During his visit to the Northern Region, Mr. Blewett engaged with various stakeholders, including the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John, media representatives from the northern zones, and MTN trade partners.
He also toured the Tamale market and met with MTN staff as part of the company’s annual regional outreach initiative—an effort aimed at collecting feedback and sharing updates on MTN’s latest innovations.
