MTN Ghana Launches Inaugural Sustainability Week to Promote Environmental Commitment

Ghana’s telecom leader, MTN, has launched its inaugural Sustainability Week as part of its “Ambition 2025 Strategic Commitment to ESG Principles” aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability.

The ceremony took place at the company’s headquarters in Accra, with key executives and staff, including CEO Stephen Blewett and Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe, participating in the event.

Dressed in green T-shirts, MTN employees gathered at the MTN House in Ridge to unveil the company’s first electric car and motorbike.

The theme for the week is “Sustainability: Our Collective Responsibility,” highlighting MTN’s commitment to environmental initiatives in Ghana.

Following the launch, Blewett took a test ride on the motorbike and a test drive in the electric car, with Wiafe accompanying him.

The week will feature presentations from various experts, aimed at raising public awareness about the new sustainability program and empowering MTN employees to actively participate in environmental initiatives.

Wiafe emphasized that the introduction of “Sustainability Week” is a crucial step in helping MTN achieve its strategic ESG goals.
