MTN Ghana is empowering young people in Mankessim (Central Region), Apowa (Western Region), and Nyinahin (Ashanti Region) through hands-on training in mobile phone repairs, as part of its ongoing 21 Days of Y’ello Care initiative. The program aims to equip participants with essential technical skills that foster self-employment and promote long-term economic inclusion.

The comprehensive training covers various aspects of mobile phone servicing, including IC fault diagnosis, screen replacement, charging port repairs, sound/speaker issues, network troubleshooting, iCloud bypass, SIM unlocking, decoding, iCloud removal, and FRP/Google lock removal.

This initiative is led by MTN Ghana employees, who volunteer their time and expertise during the company’s annual corporate social responsibility campaign, 21 Days of Y’ello Care. The 2025 edition is themed “Connecting at the Root: Connecting Communities Through the Use of Digital Tools” and focuses on addressing digital inequality, especially in underserved and rural communities.

Throughout the 21-day campaign, MTN Ghana staff across all 16 regions are engaging in projects aimed at enhancing digital literacy, expanding access to digital technologies, and encouraging innovative approaches to community development through tech-based solutions.

Speaking on the campaign’s impact, Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, said, “This year’s theme challenges us to go beyond providing connectivity—it’s about equipping communities with the skills and tools to thrive in the digital economy. By offering training in mobile phone repair, we’re empowering youth to build sustainable livelihoods and shape their own futures.”

Since its launch in 2007, 21 Days of Y’ello Care has grown into one of MTN’s most impactful CSR programs, engaging thousands of employees across Africa each year. The initiative has positively impacted millions of lives and transformed communities through education, technology, and volunteer-driven development.
