The Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has issued a one-week ultimatum to the unidentified Member of Parliament who allegedly used the phrase “Daughter of a Murderer.”

The Speaker warned that failure to appear within the given timeframe would result in severe parliamentary sanctions.

While condemning the remark, Speaker Bagbin outlined possible penalties, including a nine-month suspension from Parliament if the MP is found guilty by a committee set up to investigate the matter.

His directive follows a petition from a group in the Klottey Korle constituency, urging Parliament to take decisive action.

Mr. Bagbin has also ordered an immediate probe into the issue and called for an apology to the family of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.
