Chaos erupted during the Appointments Committee’s session as Minority and Majority MPs clashed over the vetting of Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

Tensions flared when the Minority proposed rescheduling the vetting to Friday, citing procedural concerns.

The Majority, however, stood firm, insisting the process continue as planned.

The disagreement quickly spiraled out of control, with Minority members disrupting proceedings by destroying microphones and tables, prompting a heightened security presence.

The Minority argued no further nominees should be vetted, sticking to an earlier agreement to vet only four nominees for the day.

The heated standoff forced the Majority leader, Mahama Ayariga to suspend the vetting and announce that the session would resume at the Speaker’s conference room tomorrow.
