The Krontihene of Akyem Asuom, Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, has strongly expressed his desire for Ghana to never experience another presidency like that of Nana Akufo-Addo.

He lamented the hardships the country has endured during Akufo-Addo’s leadership, citing rampant corruption among government officials in an administration he described as underperforming.

Speaking to the press, Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III shared his relief that Akufo-Addo’s presidency was nearing its end, with only a week left in office. He likened Ghana to a nation that had been “stripped naked” under the current government and is now in need of restoration, as referenced in Luke 10:29.

He further noted that many chiefs were relieved to see the end of Akufo-Addo’s reign, especially after feeling disrespected by him.

“A lot of chiefs are happy. A good friend of mine, who is also a chief, told me, ‘Let’s see if he [Akufo-Addo] will now go around and instruct chiefs to stand up and greet him,’” he remarked.

Reflecting on the lost potential, he emphasized that Akufo-Addo had many opportunities to improve the country but left behind a disappointing legacy. Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III concluded with a prayer that Ghana never faces another presidency like Akufo-Addo’s again.
