Man Caught with Over 30 Women’s Panties for Suspected Rituals

A Zimbabwean man has caused outrage in the Namhari community after being caught with over 30 stolen women’s panties, allegedly used in disturbing sexual rituals known locally as mubobobo.

The suspect, Augustine Marimo, reportedly stole the undergarments from washing lines and communal bathing areas, targeting unsuspecting women across the community.

His actions came to light during a traditional court hearing, where several affected women were called to testify. One woman, speaking under anonymity, recounted how she attended the session only to confirm rumours — but was horrified to recognize a pair of panties belonging to her late sister, an emotionally cherished item she hadn’t realized was missing.

The woman described the discovery as “sickening,” particularly after hearing Marimo’s disturbing confession.

He reportedly did not deny the charges, instead detailing how he placed the underwear on his bed, masturbated on them, and imagined himself sexually engaging with the women — without their knowledge or consent.

According to her, her marriage had begun to unravel soon after her underwear vanished. She described how intimacy with her husband had faded, and their once-loving relationship grew distant and emotionally strained.

Even more unsettling was Marimo’s claim that he acted under the influence of a mysterious spiritual voice, which urged him to steal and perform the rituals.

He allegedly warned the court that the voice threatened him with severe consequences if he revealed its origin.

Community leaders and residents have since called for urgent spiritual cleansing rituals and tighter communal security, as fear and shock ripple through Nemhari.
