Mahama’s X Account Restored After Crypto Scam Hack
President regains control of his account after fraudulent cryptocurrency breach
President John Dramani Mahama has announced that his official X account (@JDMahama) has been successfully restored after being compromised on March 16, 2025.
The breach saw unauthorized posts promoting “Solana Africa,” a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme falsely linked to Mahama, claiming to enable free payments across Africa via the Solana blockchain.
Expressing gratitude for the support received, Mahama confirmed that his team, in collaboration with X support, had regained control of the account.
The first sign of the hack was the sudden appearance of crypto-related promotional posts.
“Thank you for your inquiries and offers to assist. My team, working with X support, has successfully restored my account,” Mahama shared.
Meanwhile, the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) assured the public that it had been working closely with X and other stakeholders to resolve the issue and strengthen security measures against future breaches.
