Mahama Govt Crushing Businesses, Ignoring Private Sector – Afenyo-Markin

Minority Leader Criticizes Administration for Lack of Job Creation, Private Sector Growth, and Political Persecution

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has accused the Mahama administration of undermining businesses in Ghana, claiming it has no concrete plans for job creation, private sector growth, or support for farmers and fisherfolk.

Speaking during the 2025 Budget debate in Parliament on March 25, he asserted that the government is more focused on political persecution than economic development.

“They have no clear plans to create jobs, support fisherfolk, or aid farmers. Instead, they are focused on persecuting political opponents and suppressing private sector initiatives,” he argued, questioning the role of the Trade Minister and the effectiveness of the 24-hour economy initiative.
