President John Dramani Mahama has stressed that the ongoing constitutional review process is a national endeavor, not a political agenda.
Speaking during the launch of the Constitution Review Committee on January 30, he emphasized that the effort is designed to strengthen Ghana’s governance system and should reflect the shared values and aspirations of all Ghanaians, regardless of political affiliation.
“This initiative is not about party politics; it is about the future of Ghana. We need a constitution that represents the hopes and dreams of every citizen,” Mahama asserted.
He further expressed his determination to see the constitutional amendments succeed, highlighting the importance of building on the work done by previous administrations.
Mahama acknowledged the contributions of former Presidents John Evans Atta Mills and Nana Akufo-Addo, who each initiated review processes in 2010 and 2023, respectively.
The president urged the review committee to engage deeply with the public to ensure the revised constitution reflects the collective will of the people.
