Sudan head coach Kwasi Appiah has emphasized a fearless mindset ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) draw, which placed his team in Group E alongside Algeria, Burkina Faso, and Equatorial Guinea.
Appiah made it clear that Sudan’s ambition is to win the tournament, not just participate. “The AFCON in Morocco in 2025 is going to be interesting. Sudan, we are in a group that [features] all the teams really. For me, if you want to participate in a competition, your aim should be going out there to win the cup,” Appiah stated.
The experienced coach, who has previously led Ghana to the AFCON, stressed the importance of facing every opponent with confidence.
“For me, if you’re afraid of any team, why are you taking part in the competition?” he asked rhetorically.
Appiah expressed confidence in Sudan’s potential, urging his players to approach each game with determination and belief.
“I believe that Sudan will perform very well, and I am hopeful any team that we meet, we will try our best to get the victory,” he added.
