Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, has condemned Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, for spreading false claims about “suspicious aircrafts” allegedly landing at Kotoka International Airport.
Ofosu’s remarks follow Fordjour’s call for an urgent briefing on the cargo of two planes—AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B—which were suspected of transporting cocaine and cash into Ghana. This led to President John Dramani Mahama ordering a probe into the matter.
During a public statement on April 3, Ofosu accused Fordjour of backtracking on his earlier statements, claiming that they were not his personal views but those of a committee he represented.
Ofosu alleged that Fordjour’s refusal to cooperate with security agencies stemmed from his awareness that he had spread falsehoods.
The Minister further criticized Fordjour’s actions as an attempt to undermine public trust in the government, asserting that the claims were entirely baseless and aimed at damaging the credibility of the administration.
