Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff, has emphasized the importance of the upcoming Kwahu Business Forum as a vital initiative to nurture entrepreneurship and promote the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana.

In an interview, Debrah spoke about President Mahama’s vision for unlocking Ghana’s entrepreneurial potential and taking advantage of the abundant opportunities in the West African region.

The forum, scheduled for Saturday, April 19, aims to provide Ghanaian businesses with the tools they need to extend their reach to neighboring markets such as Burkina Faso and Mali.

“The Kwahu Business Forum’s goal is to foster business growth,” Debrah stated, highlighting how it aligns with the President’s commitment to nurturing more Ghanaian-owned SMEs that lead in export and manufacturing.

While the government will not directly set up factories or industries, Debrah clarified that it will provide essential support for the private sector to flourish. The forum is a platform for private sector participants, particularly SMEs, to collaborate and discuss strategies for growth.

Building on the success of last year’s event, this year’s forum will feature key players, including financial institutions, investor banks, and other organizations.

Prominent CEOs and managing directors will attend, sharing insights on services and products that can benefit SMEs, alongside an exhibition showcasing bank offerings.

Debrah expressed confidence that the forum will have a lasting impact, underscoring President Mahama’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and driving economic growth.

“By the end of his tenure, the President will be able to proudly say that he helped cultivate businesses leading in export and manufacturing,” he concluded.
