Kumasi Central Prisons Presents Five Inmates for 2025 BECE

As part of its ongoing reformation initiatives, the Kumasi Central Prisons has presented five male inmates to take part in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The candidates, aged between 20 and 25, are sitting for the exam at the Bantama Examination Centre, signaling a renewed commitment to rehabilitation through education.

During a visit to various BECE centers, Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi, expressed encouragement to the inmate candidates and pledged support for their future academic pursuits, including financial assistance for their WASSCE registration.

“It’s inspiring to see these young men taking a bold step towards rebuilding their lives. This is a true symbol of hope,” the mayor stated.

Mr. Boadi also visited centers such as Opoku Ware School in the Nhyiaso Constituency, Adventist SHS and Asanteman SHS in Bantama, and Serwaa Nyarko SHS in Manhyia North.

At each stop, he advised students to steer clear of exam malpractice and emphasized the importance of the BECE in shaping their futures.

In total, 120,285 students across 432 centers in the Ashanti Region are participating in the 2025 BECE.
