Smoke Turns to Flames as Driver's Extinguisher Efforts Fail

A private Benz A-Class A140 was completely destroyed by fire at the Ahodwo Roundabout in Kumasi on Friday, February 7, 2025.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.

According to the car owner, Atobrah Kyerematen, who spoke in an interview with Lawson News, the incident occurred after he noticed smoke emanating from the vehicle about 45 minutes into his drive. He said he parked and discovered flames under the car.

He said despite using a fire extinguisher in an attempt to put out the fire, his efforts were unsuccessful.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service arrived on the scene and managed to extinguish the flames, but the car was already reduced to ashes.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
