Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has voiced his dismay on social media after a plaque bearing his name on the statue of the late President Prof. John Evans Atta Mills was found destroyed at the Asomdwee Park, the presidential burial site.
The plaque, which once included a tribute to the former leader and mentioned Anyidoho as the donor, was found shattered, though the statue itself remained unharmed.
While the person responsible for the vandalism is still unknown, the park is a state-owned site designated for Ghana’s deceased presidents.
Despite the incident, Anyidoho expressed peace through his faith, sharing a message on X on January 8, 2025: “This just happened @ Asomdwee Park. My Bible tells me that ‘In All Things’ (not in some things), I should give thanks to God. I am also singing… ‘It is well with my soul.’ To God be all the glory, and my prayer is for God to continue blessing my beloved homeland, Ghana.”
