Kobina Tahir Hammond, the Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa, has commended Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, for his leadership qualities, urging voters to support him in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Speaking during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour of the Ashanti Region on Friday, November 15, K.T. Hammond referred to the NPP flagbearer as “God’s gift to Ghana,” emphasizing the need for a visionary and principled leader to guide the nation forward.

Hammond contrasted Dr. Bawumia’s leadership with that of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, pointing out that Mahama has been repeatedly rejected by the electorate and should not be given another chance to lead the country.

“There’s someone in this country who wants to be president again after being rejected multiple times by the people. He has failed to answer serious questions about his previous tenure, including his inability to bring back the guinea fowl that flew to Burkina Faso. NDC communicators can’t even explain their 24-hour economy proposal,” Hammond said, referring to the former president’s past controversies.

Hammond continued, drawing a comparison to the biblical treatment of Jesus Christ, urging caution and highlighting that Dr. Bawumia is a gift from God. “God has given us Alhaji Dr. Bawumia as a gift. Let’s ensure we vote for him to become President so that he can use his knowledge and skills to transform the fortunes of Ghana. He will bring development to Asokwa and beyond.”

Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour continued through the Adansi area on Friday, which includes six constituencies: Akrofuom, Obuasi East, Obuasi West, Fomena, Adansi Asokwa, and New Edubiase. Earlier in the day, Dr. Bawumia had visited Obuasi East, Obuasi West, and Akrofuom. His itinerary for the day included stops in New Edubiase, Adansi Asokwa, and Fomena—New Edubiase being the only constituency among the six that has consistently supported the NDC.

As Dr. Bawumia continues his tour, the NPP is counting on his message of leadership, vision, and development to galvanize support across the Ashanti Region and beyond as the 2024 election approaches.
